Community Outreach

Services · Ongoing

Meeting people where they already are.

Recovery doesn’t start in a clinic. It starts in the community — so that’s where a lot of our work happens too.

Monthly

Community sensitisation forums

Held in Huruma, Korogocho, Kariobangi, and Mathare, to build awareness and reduce stigma around addiction and mental health.

Schools

School outreach programme

Early identification and prevention work with secondary and primary schools across the service area.

Peer-led

Peer recovery support network

Trained former clients supporting people currently in treatment — lived experience as part of the care model, not an add-on.

Every two weeks

Family support group

A recurring meeting space for spouses, parents, and children of clients in treatment.

Mobile

Mobile outreach unit

A mobile presence to identify and engage people who haven’t yet sought help, in the communities where they already live.

Capacity building

Community health worker training

CHWs and peer educators trained in addiction first aid, basic counselling, and referral pathways — extending care beyond our own team.

Why this matters

Trust is built before treatment is

Many people who need help never make it to a clinic — not because they don’t want care, but because they’ve never been offered it in a way that felt safe. Our outreach work exists to close that first gap, long before anyone books a formal consultation.
